Running SKILL command inside sh() command

I have a pretty simple problem. I want to pass a library/cell path I get from a current cellview to script in UNIX.

It goes something like this: (running in the CIW)

myDir = dbFullPath(geGetEditCellView())

sh("script.pl myDir")

but obviously this just passes myDir as an arg to script.pl but after searching I haven't found a way to spit this command out.
