Selective Marknet

Hi,

I have two questions:

1. Is there any way I can mark the nets in a given area of layout only? Is there any faster alternative to marknet using skill?

2. How can I force that any new rectangle which is drawn in the layout must start from the edge of a previously drawn rectangle (assuming that I invoke this functionality after drawing some rectangles)

Thanks,

Sarik

    Hi Sarik,

    1. It is not possible, to my knowledge, to limit Mark Net to only work within a specific area. It is unlikely that a SKILL approach would be faster than Mark Net - Mark Net is written in C/C++ and optimized for performance and is likely to be more efficient and faster than a SKILL equivalent.  However, to do what you are asking would require a custom approach, and since we cannot customize Mark Net (much) it would have to be done in SKILL (or perhaps ITKDB if you know what you are doing).

    2. Use smart snapping for the start point of the creation command -> Start the command and use F3 to toggle the Options form, turn on Enable Smart Snapping.

    Best regards,

    Lawrence.
