Skill mode editing of groups and Synchronous Copies

Hi Everyone,

Good Day.

I am using virtuoso IC6.1.6, and my problem is that if I do some editing inside of a Group or Synchronous Copy  like. changing layer or Copying in skillmode,  the new/edited object is separated from the group, i.e it is not a member of the group which I am editing.  How should I do the copy command in skill and ensure that the new object is still part of the Group and in synced to the other copies?

Many thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Talking to a rep and  a previous post I did, the syncGroups are private to Cadence. You can only edit the shape and keep the sync in XL mode only. The closest thing I have to editing the groups in skill and keeping the sync was modifying or syncing the shape coloring.

Another option I was thinking of trying was creating my owe group by adding a property to the group to identify the groups as my sync group. This identifier would allow me to edit in L or XL. I did not have enough group editing to proceed with efforts.

    Some other useless info:

I found if edit a shape and change the color it will not change the coloring in the other groups. However if you chop the shape after you change the color, the color will be synced with the other sync groups.

Dont know how much it helps, but this is some of the wealth of info I have about groups.
