Is thera a bug in "exists"?

    No, that's correct. The exists function loops over the list in the second argument until it finds an element for which the expression in the third argument returns non-nil. It then returns the remainder of the list from that point onwards (similar to member()). You can either use this to signify a condition - that there exists at least one member of the list which matches the condition, or you might be usefully be able to do something with the remainder of the list.

    I suspect you really wanted to use setof() rather than exists(). This will return the set of matching list entries - if you do that, then your foreach would print "t" for every element because you'd end up with a set of all the matching elements.
