Substituting variables in the dpl arrow operators?

Ienstein

This is what I would like to do:

dpl1 = list(nil 'var list( 1 2 3))

x = 'var

dpl1->x  =>  ( 1 2 3) ; desired result

I can't get the arrow operator to properly reference 'var from x instead of literally x

Any thoughts much appreciated!

    The -> operator (for retrieval) corresponds to the getq() function, which means that the argument is implicitly quoted. So the property name is not evaluated if you do it this way - it would try to retrieve a property called "x".

    Instead use get(dpl1 x) which does exactly what you want.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
