Dimming on layout window any given area?

Hi Andrew,

    Thanks actively helping us.

I have question like this, we can do "dimming" on layout windows, through display options.

We can do dimming based for conditions ie scope. However is there any chance for dimming on layout window with given list of  coordinates?

Example, I would like to dimm the layout window from (X1,Y1) to (X2,Y2). Layout should be in read mode and nothing is selected.

Regards,

Venkatraman

    Hi Venkatraman,

This is not possible currently. Why do you need this (i.e. what are you hoping to use this for)?

BTW, you can control the depth of a particular area using View->Area Display, but not sure that's what you want here.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

Thanks Andrew.. We wanted to display some text related to layout at some random location of the layout window during layout review. Since the layout layers confuses the highlight text, we wanted to dimm the layout window in a given location.

    1. Is there any way to to hide layout layers in given location?
    2. How the infoBalloon background is set? That kind of background setting also good for me.

    Regards,

    Venkatraman

    Hi Venkatraman,

May be you can use instance drawing layer for writing some text within a cell which will not be visible outside the it's hierarchy level.

    1. No.
    2. Use the cdsenv: layout balloonTransparency int 50
