overwrite the PR Boundaries

Dear Andrew,
I have 2 queries:
1. I have made a layout and  "layout.oa" file has been generated but for some work, i want to read .oa extension file. But this file is in unreadable form. Can yo suggest me the way to convert it into form which is suitable to understand .
2. Is there any skill command to delete the PR boundary or overwrite to create new PR boundary over existed one??

As far as i know, i have came across one command(dbCreatePRBoundary) but it is not able to create new PR boundary as already PR boundary is there. Is there any other command that will do my work?

    Hi Rajesh,

This is a forum and many more people than Andrew look at it and many respond - are you intentionally limiting your audience to just Andrew?

    1. The .oa extension indicates that the file format is OpenAccess (OA).  The Si2 organization and member organizations 'maintain' OA - take a look at Si2 for more information on that.  Multiple tools can read OA files, many are from Cadence, and several outside of Cadence. Since you are in a Cadence forum I will stick with their tools; primarily you can use Virtuoso (Virtuoso Layout Suite or VLS, VLS-L, VLS-XL, VLS-GXL) to open/read and edit a layout file. From Virtuoso you could export the layout to GDSII or OASIS, for example, as two possible formats for describing a physical layout. You could even use SKILL to output layout information in a purely textual format - not the most efficient, but I don't know what you're trying to do.

    2. If your cellview is the current one you could do this:  dbDeleteObject(geGetEditCellView()~>prBoundary)

    Hopefully this answers your questions.

    Regards,

    Lawrence.
