Flatten instance without master

Hello ,

I need to convert layout views from old technology to the new one ( library with attached new tech file). I want to flatten instances which are not existing in the new technology library and convert one of the map certain layer form old tech to the new valid layer.

I  got everything setup and running except it seems that the dbFlattenInst does not work with the instances with unbound masters.
I have got my ov custom flatten function which takes only one parameter to take advantage of mapcar

Example:

mapcar( 'MKdbFlattenInst setof(  inst cvid~> instances inst~>cellName=="instance_A"))

Is it even possible to break down instance of pcell with unbound master?

Thanks.

No, because this makes no sense. If the master is unbound, it wouldn't know what the content is, and so there's nothing there to flatten!
