How to extract the coloring of the metal

Hi All,

I used to write the skill scripts with the combination of Diva rule files.

Long time back, For higher nodes(above 28nm) I had written one script  which will extract the power/gnd net and will find out via missing location(at its overlaps). And as per these locations, my skill script will put the vias there.

When I use this script for lower nodes(14nm/7nm), Its not working fine because lower metals(from M0 to M3) has 2 colours with cutlayers.

The problem I'm facing is I can't able to extract M* with mask1 color & M* with mask2 color separately. If its possible then my scripts goes much easier.

Not only this particular script, whatever I want to deal with colour metals using diva rules, its getting difficult to me.

Please tell me if there is any solution.

Thanks & Regards,

Narendra K

Given that Diva is not supported for Advanced Node (it's not in the menus, although it is accessible from SKILL), it's hardly surprising that it is not suited for finding out coloring information.

It's not that clear what you're trying to do, but there are db APIs and mpt APIs for dealing with colouring - including finding the coloured shapes.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
