finding parent folder name from script

DavidLou

hello Experts,

I can get the absolute file path from script by simplifyFilename(get_filename(piport) t). but once I get the full path like /parent1/parent2/parent3/.../parent9/parent10/script_file, how can I easily get the last two parent folder names (i.e., parent9 and parent10 here)?

thanks,

David

    David,

Undoubtedly you could use some fancy regular expression way of doing this, but the simplest would be to use reverse(parseString(pathName "/")) - then you can use the car(), cadr(), caddr() etc - or even the nth() function to retrieve certain elements from the end.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
