How to continue execute a skill script after a form popup in layout ?

Hi,guys!

This my skill script!

procedure(self_align()

leHiAlign()

leAlignSelSetForm->layerField_2->value='(56628358 112 26 "NW (drawing)")

)

When I execute self_align(), the Align form popup, but the second statement was not executed,

just only I cancel the Align form ,the second statement just was executed.

But this is not I want,should I do?

Any help is good!

Thanks

Gong

    Hi Gong,

    I think you'd want to do:

    procedure(self_align()
      hiEnqueueCmd("leAlignSelSetForm->layerField_2->value=hiLayerMatchCyclicStr(leAlignSelSetForm->layerField_2->choices \"NW (drawing)\")")
      leHiAlign()
    )

    I'm not sure which version you're using but in in recent IC versions it's changed to no longer by a layer cyclic field. So you'd do:

    procedure(self_align()
      hiEnqueueCmd("leAlignSelSetForm->layerField_2->value=\"NW drawing\"")
      leHiAlign()
    )

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    I did not know about hiEnqueueCmd, so I had been using hiRegTimer for driving blocking forms.

    If hiEnqueueCmd is what I should have been using, than what is hiRegTimer's raison d'être?

    Andrew,

    I don't quite understand why this works...cdnshelp says hiEnqueueCmd(<cmd>) executes <cmd> after returning from the current function which is self_allign(). However self_align() doesn't return any time before the blocking leHiAlign() returns. So what exactly does hiEnqueueCmd and when is <cmd> executed??

    thx

    Max, Tom,

    hiEnqueueCmd is effectively the same as hiRegTimer with 0 as the time (sort of). What it does is insert a command into the queue of SKILL commands to be executed when the UI responds; it's similar to the fact that you might have a blocking function (which doesn't return until the form has been OK'd for example) but yet you can still type SKILL functions in the CIW. It is not dependent upon self_align returning.

    Tom, hiRegTimer is still useful if you want to schedule something some time in the future (i.e. a non-0 number of 10ths of a second in the future). Also, if my memory is correct, hiRegTimer existed for a very long time but hiEnqueueCmd is relatively recent (I'm sure even that has been around for a long time though). So I tend to use it for its semantic benefits - it more clearly signals the intent when you read it in code.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
