TreeTable writable fields.

Hello fellow Custom IC SKILLers,

I have yet another question.

I saw in ADE L that in the "Model Library Setup" AppForm you are able to write in the fields. And even I think the fields could be other type of fields - fileSelector, Combo and so on.

My question here is if it is possible for the mortals too, or that's another ADE thing only. When I get the form ID and ask about the fields there is a "fieldType->native". As I haven't seen such fields I presume it's another ADE only feature.

Thank you

Stoyan

    Hi Stoyan,

If you want to change the entries in the Model Library Setup perhaps a better way to do this is through something like the following:

    asiSetEnvOptionVal(asiGetTool('hspiceD) "modelFiles" list(list("$HSPICE_MODEL_PATH/design_wrapper.lib" "TT")))

Another example, taken from a solution article:

    envSetVal("spectre.envOpts" "modelFiles" 'string "moreModels;ff mymodels;tt")

    Hopefully this will help you?

    Best regards,

    Lawrence.

    Hi Lawrence,

That's actually not my question. I am building an AppForm with treeTable with several levels of hierarchy and I want on the last(lowest) level to be able to write in a cell of the treeTable.

I see such behavior in the mentioned ADE form and in the SKILL IDE tracer field which is actually a treeTable field. There when tracing the variables you are able to double click on the "Value" field and you can actually input a new value.

I know ADE forms have greater flexibility than the common SKILL forms and I presume that's the case here as well. But for the SKILL IDE form I think it's more like a workaround ( probably generating a small string field there or something like that). That's what I am trying to understand and duplicate.

    Regards,

    Stoyan

    Hi Stoyan,

There are a few forms in Virtuoso that use native Qt widgets with an "hi" container around them. This is done if features that the Human Interface functions don't offer are needed - and the ADE form you reference, and the IDE are just two examples of these. Unfortunately whilst there have been a number of enhancement requests to extend the tree table fields to support type-in values, this hasn't been implemented so far (mostly because it would complicate the interface considerably given that these interfaces pre-date the move to Qt underneath). Of course it's not impossible that a SKILL-based interface to the underlying Qt widget could be created, but it hasn't happened yet, I'm afraid.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
