can't find one-page map of a typical database object system

Hi ,

I am start learning about skill now. I was trying to develop a script but I was stuck.

One of my co-worker suggested that I should look at the "One-page map of a typical database object system"  which he said it was in some very early

versions of the Design Framework. Can someone help to let me know where I can find it ? it would help me a lot of skill learning

thanks

Here are a couple of good posts about learning Skill and the database objects. In particular, download the dataBrowser.il, load and run that code. It will allow you to browse all of the database objects in a cell from a simple user interface.

I remember the map you are referring to. The following may be close enough. Go to the Virtuoso Design Environment SKILL Reference, and look under Attribute Retrieval and Modification. You'll see a diagram of object types, each one is a link and shows all the attributes for each object type. I think the "one-page map" is something that used to be provided ages ago in the SKILL training class, and more recently in the SKILL Quick Reference manual. We have recently stopped producing the paper SKILL Quick Reference manual - given that it had reached two volumes and was hardly a pocket guide any more, and cdsFinder (plus the built-in finder in the SKILL IDE) provides the same quick reference (just not the database map).

The database map is not included in the documentation as far as I know, but Derek's suggestions are a good start on how to find your way around.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
