ade-l expressions not saving in viva

greetings.

apologize if this has already been answered.

i have a bunch of expressions in my ade-l state... i subsequently open results browser to plot my waveforms, but i cannot figure out how to get the expressions to save to the results database so i can plot them through results browser directly (as opposed to sending signals to the calculator and re-creating the expressions).  is this not supported, or am i simply overlooking a switch somewhere?

thanks in advance for the help/guidance.
david

p.s. i'm on version 6.1.7.

    Hi David,

The results browser points to the psf directory which contains the saved signals and not expression results.

You can build expressions through calculator in ViVA - send signals from Results Browser and create the expressions as you mentioned. However, as your expressions are already in your ADE-L state so you can plot them through ADE to see the results in ViVA, why you need to re-build them in ViVA?

    Regards,

    Dimitra

    hi dimitra,

thanks for your reply.  yes, i can definitely go back to ade-l and plot from there, but given my use case, it's far more convenient to do so from viva.  based on your reply, should i assume this is simply not possible (to force expressions to be saved)?

You can plot the curves you want in ViVA from within ADE, using the calculator, and then select the traces you want and do Right Mouse->Send To->Export and pick "PSF" as the output format and create a PSF database containing whatever you've plotted. This can then be opened in ViVA standalone.

Note that you're not saving back to the original database - but you're saving a new database containing the same signals, however they were produced.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
