How to send SIGTERM to processes running through IPC on exiting virtuoso session.

Hi

I have a spin off process(python script) that runs continuously in the background started with "ipcSkillProcess". These statements are put in .cdsinit so that when Virtuoso session is started, these process are also started in the background. I have appropriate handles for SIGINT/SIGTERM to perform the required clean up inside these processes for a graceful shutdown. All I have to do is to send signal through the command "ipcSignalProcess" from a Virtuoso CIW.

What I would like to do is to send these appropriate signals(SIGTERM/SIGTERM) when I terminate my Virtuoso Session. (Either File->Exit or I type "exit" in Virtuoso CIW). Just similar to .cdsinit is there a file where I can put statements that gets executed when the user terminates the Virtuoso session. Or Is there a better way to send SIGTERM signals to these processes started with ipcSignalProcess when the Virtuoso session is terminated?

Thanks

Shankar

    Hi Shankar,

When you exit virtuoso, any process started with ipcBeginProcess will get sent SIGTERM anyway without you having to do anything special. This is done so that (in normal circumstances) processes launched by virtuoso do not continue beyond the life of the parent virtuoso.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
