Consistent coloring of different waveform families

Hi Everybody,

I have two family of waveforms, where one family is based on an approximation while the other family is based simulation results, and I would like to assign the same color for the associated sweep corner. Is there a way to reset ViVA's color index counter, so that the nth elemenetof both family will have the same color? I find it nice to show the estimate with dashed and the simulated curve with solid lines.

I have nested spectre sweeps, so it is not straightforward to get the number of famly members to be plotted, otherwise it could be to accomplish this by generating a list("y0" "y1" ... etc) based on the number of family memebers and suply it to the awvPlotWaveform function.

Thanks,

Zoltan

    Hi Zoltan,

One thought is that you could use Window->Assistants->Customise Trace Groups and then assign the color or symbol based on (say) the corner so there's consistency between the results. You can set strip, color or symbol using this assistant.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

Thanks! It works in the GUI, but I am looking for a way where I can do this inside an ocean script. I do not see with the Log Filter in the CIW what command is executed in the background.

There isn't a function to do this from SKILL, unfortunately. Whilst awvPlotWaveform (and plot) have the ability to specify the colour, they don't have the ability to control what it does with each family member. The customise trace groups UI doesn't have a SKILL equivalent. There's currently a need for a better SKILL API for ViVA to allow you to script all the things you can do from the UI - that's not always possible right now.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

Totally agree about the need for a better SKILL API to fully support ViVA (and ADE-XL and Explorer)
