Claiming the prize for today's dumbest question - ocean won't read ~/.oceanrc

I'm scratching my head here. If I start up ocean in a terminal window it appears to not run my ~/.oceanrc file (it has permissions of 777 in case that helps). The file contains only one line:

load("~/.cdsinit")

Having started ocean, I can do:

ocean> load("~/.oceanrc")
-----> Starting .cdsinit from ~/.cdsinit
-----> Finishing .cdsinit from ~/.cdsinit
t
ocean>

The text output above is stuff I had at the start and end of my .cdsinit file, however that text is nowhere to be seen when I start up ocean afresh from a terminal window. Any ideas?

    Do you have a .oceanrc file in either <ICinstDir>/tools/dfII/local (which would be read first) or in the working directory (which is the second choice). As with the .cdsinit file, it reads the first file it finds and then doesn't look further for the third choice which is your home directory.

    If not that, check what "cdswhich -lookupconfig .oceanrc" says (in a terminal window) - is it configured to look for .oceanrc elsewhere?

    Andrew.

    There was indeed a .oceanrc file in the installation directory and it did not finish up with loading a local .oceanrc file. That has now been fixed and everything works as it should.

    Seriously - you need to set up a PayPal account and start accepting donations!! :-)
