Adding double quotes to the value of a variable

Hi,

I wanted to add double quotes in a variable.

For instance, if the variable 'a' is having the value 'hi'.

a="hi"

Here, the double-quotes are not a part of the variable. The value is only 'hi'.

I wanted to put double quotes at the ends of the value of the variable.... like 

a=""hi""

Please let me know if we can add double quotes this way.

    You need to escape the quotes:
    a="\"hi\""
