How to create dynamically CDF item field by calback

Hi all,

I try to load parameters from a file in order to create/delete dynamically by a callback parameters into the CDF of a component.

is it possible to do that ?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Olivier

    Hi Olivier,

So you want a CDF callback to add or delete parameters from the CDF based on a decision made by the callback? If so, then no, that's not supported and it doesn't make sense.

Cell CDF is common to all instances of that cell (yes, there is "instance" CDF, but that is merely the Effective Cell CDF populated with values from the instance; it doesn't have the ability to have different parameters per-instance).

So even assuming you were able to do this, the callback for one instance would then add or subtract a parameter which would then affect all other instances of the same component. That would be very odd behaviour.

Why do you want to do this? What are you trying to achieve?

    Regards,

    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,

in fact, I have an instance with a lot of parameters, and my idea is to setup a file with all parameter/values inside and load/save it with CDF button in order to create/update/delete CDF items.

    Regards,

    Olivier

Well, you could certainly have a button which populates the values of the CDF fields on the instance from a file, but as I said, it makes no sense to add or delete new parameters which are not already in the CDF.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
