can we pass string from Ocean to design like DesVar?

Hello experts,

looks like DesVar can only pass real numbers. is there someway I can pass a string from Ocean to design? e.g., pass a file path name for Verilogams to read by $fopen and $fscanf?

  • not sure i am answering your question, at that i will try.

    design variable value in Ocean can be of type "string". if so it must be double quoted like this:

    desVar("variable_name" "variable_value")

    if ocean produces an error, possibly you forgot to double quote a variable value (like it happened to me) and ocean treats it as another design variable
