Launch MonteCarlo simulations on ADE-XL using SKILL

Hi,

I have a setup on ADE-XL with many tests and corners. Every time that I do verification I run 10s of Montecarlo simulations and I have to click on the play button one by one till all of them have started successfully .

How can I automate this task, so I can launch a script which will take care of that ?

I did the first part, which creates and configures each corner, to point to the correct test, variables used, models used, etc.

Can you help me with this please?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Pedro

    Hi Pedro,

Why do you need to run each monte carlo separately? If you have lots of tests and corners, it should run across tests and corners anyway with a single run.

Rather than talking about how to automate it, let's first start by understanding what exactly you are doing and why you can't just hit the run button once!

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    HI Andrew,

The problem is that running many tests/corners with 400 points each, the database would be gigantic (imagine a test with 5 different corners, for example). Moreover, launching the simulations independently allows me to start processing data as simulations finish and the summary view will give relevant data as well.

    Best regards,

    Pedro

    Hi Pedro,

That really isn't anything that should stress ADE XL - 400 points with 5 corners. Also, the results should appear as they complete, so this shouldn't really be a problem.

However, if you really want to do multiple separate runs, then using ADE Assembler (in IC617 and later) would be a good idea - this has the concept of "Run Plans" which allows you to easily set up (interactively) a sequence of different runs to be scheduled.

I don't see any need or point in writing SKILL to automate something that's already there.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

Yes the plan is to move to maestro in the near future, meanwhile I will try to live with these limitations.

Thanks a lot for your time.

    Best regards,

    Pedro
