Shape Connectivity

Database ID of two shapes is known. How can I logically determine these two shapes are connected through a skill code?

Without using Marknet.

If you're using VLS XL, then you can just compare the ~>net on each shape. If not, then why not use VLS XL? If not, then why not use Mark net rather than having to reinvent the wheel and write your own shape chaser (which is going to be a lot of work - not impossible, but it's going to be a challenge to get the performance that Mark Net or the Net Tracer or the VLS XL extractor has).
