Saving design image to file with instances in virtuoso with SKILL

Hey everyone,

I'm seeing a bit of undesired behavior (for my particular use, it might make sense in general) when using the hiExportImage command. When the image saves to file it has the outlines of instances shown, but in the display it shows the contents of the instances without outlines. I'd like to show the contents, but not the outlines, of the instances in the exported image. I'd rather not flatten the design if possible. I'm not sure if I'm missing a parameter in hiExportImage, if I need to change a display setting, or if the only way to do it is to flatten the design. I've placed the relevant command I'm working with below

hiExportImage(?fileName fileName ?bBox list(xBoxLL:yBoxLL xBoxUR:yBoxUR) ?scaleFactor 0.103 ?colorType 'biColor ?fgColor "black" ?bgColor "white")

I've also tried this with ?haloType 'simple with no improvement in the output.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt

    Matt,

I don't understand what you're saying. Please post some pictures of what you're getting and what  you're expecting? The image should be showing what's on the screen - if you're not specifying the ?window, it would default to the current window.

    Andrew.

I would like the image to be saved exactly as it is displayed on the screen, I'm seeing artifacts that look like outlines of bounding boxes of the instances when I save it. I'll have to make another file unrelated to the design to share an image.

I'm assuming you're talking about the instance boxes, but it's really just guesswork without a clear picture - so please do what you can to share something which makes it obvious what the issue is. Also knowing which subversion of the software you're using is important - getVersion(t) will tell you that.

    Thanks,

    Andrew.
