exporting layout into a file (SKILL)

Hello. I am using virtuoso version ICADV12.3-64b and I need to export the layout of my design into a file so that I can modify the layout using SKILL and then use it for simulation?

I am a beginner in this and all  I know is that the current version of virtuoso does not export the layout into the CIF file. what are my options? which file format can I export from layout? how do I export that?

You don't need to export the database if you're going to use SKILL to manipulate it - you can do that directly on the database without exporting it to a text format. What kind of modifications are you trying to achieve?

    Regards,

    Andrew.

thank you for your quick response.

There are two kinds of modifications:

a- I need to widen or move some tiles( wires) in the layout based on calculating the distance between them

b- I need to modify the pcells in finfet in terms of the fin number

I am using the finfet library provided by cmc.

    Regards,

    Mehrnaz
