Dynamically display wire color according to net signal type in schematics

Hi all,

I am wondering if there is a way to modify the displayed color of wires according to the signal type of their nets?

(For instance supply wires in red, ground in blue...)

I haven't found environment variables or anything about it so I guess this is not implemented

I do not want the color property to be changed nor saved

I know I could use 'check and save' triggers to reset the color, save and then change the colors according to the nets signal type but I don't believe this is a proper solution

    Hi Aurel,

Probably the best way to do this would be to create highlight sets (for each signal type) and then use geAddHilightFig on the wires to make them highlighted in a different color. A (sort of) similar approach is used in my article: How to interactively ignore devices and highlight ignored devices (that uses geAddHilightRectangle because I wanted the rectangle size to match the selection box, not the instance bBox, but geAddHilightFig has the benefit of travelling with the object if it is moved). The highlight sets are transient data, and so doesn't involve modification of the design.

The code in that article uses a trigger to perform the highlight as the schematic is opened, but could also be triggered with a post-check-and-save trigger.

    Hope that helps!

    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,

This is not completely dynamic as expected but at least it avoids interfering with the actual wire colors that are saved in the view (which will help already)

    Thanks for your quick anwser

    Cheers,

    Aurélien
