CIW not showing variable data when load the code in SKILL IDE

Hi,

When I load the code in SKILL IDE, the CIW does not show the variable data.

I actually clicked on the "Load" button below (red arrow), but the CIW does not show x is 1.

May I know how can  I change the CIW behavior? I am using ICADVM18.1.

Thanks,

Keans.

    Hi Keans,

If you have a document with x=1, hit the load button, and then just enter "x" in the CIW, you should see that shows that x has been set to 1. It won't echo x=1 in the CIW - it's not supposed to. It's equivalent to putting "x=1" in a file, and then doing load('theFile") - that wouldn't echo the contents of the file into the CIW either.

    Maybe I've misunderstood your question?

    Hi Andrew,

Last time when I was in older version of Virtuoso, I able to see data being return in CIW as long as your code is not in the procedure. Just like when you type x=1 in CIW, it will print "1" in CIW.

I've no idea what version that would be, because as far as I know the SKILL IDE has never done this (I can't see how it could). I tried in a late IC614 version (which I think was when this was introduced), IC615, IC616 and recent versions - none of them do this.

I tested out the older version, seems you are right, the tool behavior is originally in this way.

I think I was confused initially. Thanks for your clarification.
