Saving current zoom/view state of a schematic/layout canvas

Leonardo Vinci

Hi all,

The step-wise situation is :

1>I am at a certain zoom level in a layout canvas where I can see 100 instances.

2>Through SKILL Code, I zoomed-in so much that now I can see only 1 instance in my layout canvas.

3> (***This is where I need help in my code***) I want to return my cursor and zoom level prior to when I zoomed in where I could see only 1 instance i.e. I want to return my zoom level(and cursor) where it was when I was viewing my layout canvas with 100 instances.

In other words, I want to save my current zoom(or cursor) view state of the layout canvas and do some tasks(zooming in or other tasks) and later want to revert back to this saved zoom(or cursor) view state.

I hope you got my problem statement.

Is there any function that would be helpful in achieving this?

Thanks,

Leo

    Leo,

This is the equivalent of the View->Save/Restore menu in the layout editor.

    You can use:

    hiPrevWinView(hiGetCurrentWindow()

to go to the previous zoom level, or hiNextWinView(hiGetCurrentWindow())

Or you can give a name to a view by using hiSaveView("someName") and then hiRestoreView("someName") to go back there. hiListView() lists the available names.

More info in the documentation, of course.

    Regards,

    Andrew
