Save current "state of palette" only to reset later

Hi,

I want to save the "current state of palette" only to retrieve it later.

For example, lets say I have 30 layers in my palette and currently only M1, M2, M3 layers are set to be visible(and rest 27 layers are not visible currently). Lets say this sate of palette be State_1.  How to save this State_1 of palette only to be reset again in the later part of code.

Actually, I want to save a current state of palette(layers which are visible currently and layers which are not visible currently) and then do something in my code, and again reset the state of palette to the earlier saved state of palette.

Regards,

Leo

Have you tried saving and loading an LSW Info file from the layer palette? This saves and loads all the visibility and selectability and the active layer. It does not save any filters you have applied to the list of layers. You can do this by right clicking on the top of the layer palette and choosing Save. You can also use the Skill APIs: pteSaveLSWInfo, pteLoadLSWInfo
You'll notice these files are simply skill code.
