Search a cell hierarchically in Layout and Go EIP or descend

Hi,

We use Find GUI in Layout to search a cell name from current cell view to bottom level and then is there any way to directly go EIP or descend on the found results?

If there is any other custom skill solution please share.

Thanks

-Ramakrishnan

Hi, I don't know what is the "Find Gui" you are talking about

If you mean the navigator, I believe you could use hsmGetSelectedSet to fetch the selected instance in the navigator and leEditInPlace with properly built hierarchical path list as argument to achieve what you want

    Hope this helps

    Cheers,

    Aurélien

    Aurélien,

I think Ramakrishnan is referring to Tools->Find/Replace. If so, the answer is no.

One possibility would be to use the Search Assistant in conjunction with the Navigator. Search in the search assistant for the cell you want, and then click on an instance of that in the search results (and it will be highlighted in the navigator too) and then use Right Mouse->Open Instance in the navigator (unfortunately there's no Open Instance in the search results for some reason - I'm sure it's been requested, but I couldn't find a request).

So Ramakrishnan, perhaps you should request a direct "Open Instance" or even "Edit In Place" choice from the Search assistant "Instance" results?

Yes. I was referring to Find/Replace. I will try search assistant.

    Thank you Aurelien and Andrew
