Custom Toolbar - All users

Hello,

Using IC6.1.8 Virtuoso, I created a custom tool bar using the 'toolbar manager'  CIW> options> toolbars...

Now I can see this tool bar in the given program editor - Layout, Schematic.  The files are in my home drive path an file below.

~/.cadence/dfII/toolbars/byApplication > ls
Layout.overlay Schematics.overlay

What I would like to know is where to put these files so they are present for all users at editor startup?  That is, the custom toolbar is visible by default view, global location that Virtuoso will look instead of having individual files for a common toolbar - additionally add\edit without having to go to each users home directory.  I found this location .../Cadence/IC618_ISR22/share/cdssetup/dfII/toolbars/byApplication

Put files there hoping they would get picked up, which did not happen as they probably have to be referenced somewhere (guess)

Thank you!

    Hi,

You can put the 'overlay' content in a directory/location that will be searched per your setup.loc file - the .cadence directory structure down to the file would be needed, e.g. .cadence/dfII/toolbars/byApplication/Layout.overlay

So make sure that you have a 'central' directory for all users in the setup.loc search sequence and that should solve your problem.

    Best regards,

    Lawrence.
