Open a cell view in read only mode by default

Hi,

In the cell view open form, like the one shown below, the cell views are being opening for edit by default.

Please let me know if there is an option to open them for read by default.

I'm thinking of a SKILL expression that needs to be added in .cdsinit or .cdsenv files.

Please let me know.

Thanks,

Mallikarjun

    This is slightly tricky - there's no cdsenv var to control this. The only way I could see was to customise the File menu in the CIW. This can be done by creating a "menus" directory in the Cadence Search File locations (e.g. working directory, home directory, $CDS_SITE etc) with a file called ciw.menus with this content:

    load(prependInstallPath("etc/tools/menus/ciw.menus"))
    setf(
        caddr(car(exists(item caddr(ciwFilePulldown) eq(car(item) 'OpenItem))))
        "deOpen(list(nil 'accessMode \"read\"))"
        )

    This then will load the standard menus file and then modify the entry to change the callback (it's a bit tricky interacting with the menu file variable structure, but this works in my testing).
