How to create waveform label for a group of traces

Hello, I am quite confused about how to use the waveform Label command awvPlaceWaveformLabel. When I used the corner tool to do a sweep, the waveforms come out as a "Trace group" with many "child traces." When I tried to add label with command like the following 

awvPlaceWaveformLabel(awvGetCurrentWindow() 2 list( 0 100 ) "testMARKER " nil)

it complains about ERROR (WIA-1005): Waveform with the ID 1 does not exist. 

If the waveforms are actually a group separate waveforms, the above command works, but I still don't quite understand the meaning of waveIndex (the number 2 in the command). Can someone please offer me some idea?
