Set boolean ignore property to TRUE by default

Is there a way to add a boolean ignore property to a specific layout view by default? When a cell doesn't have a corresponding schematic view it gets labelled as an unbound instance and I'd like to set this property automatically. I opened the CDF editor and tried adding a component parameter to a entire cell (not just a layout view) test case like this:

This adds a parameter to an instantiated cell that appears to have the same effect as the following procedure applying an ignore property manually:

I'm not totally sure if the ignore parameter and ignore property are equivalent and I'm hesitant to start applying this method since I don't understand the difference.

When using Virtuoso Layout Suite XL, it will look for ignore properties on the instance, on the master and in the CDF (this is covered in the documentation if my memory is correct - sorry, too many emails to catch up on for me to search and check). The CDF is per cell, but can then be overridden on the instance (if you override the default value of the ignore CDF parameter, it actually stores a property on the instance). So this should be fine...
