Get rid of marker layer

On selection of net/nets in layout there seem to be a ghost highlighting of the net, unless deselected the net this doesn't clear.

This is not a marker layer or valid layer; it seems to me like a XL connectivity layer. Please help me with any solution to get rid of the unintended net highlight.

note: I am not doing a MarkNet or connectivity net tracer just only selecting a layer.
