Extracting simulation data through adexl-matlab bridge for further processing

The matlab integration tool provides all the functions I need in terms of post-processing:

1. Record the simulation metadata: test name, corners, temperature, (sweep) variable

2. Record the scalar values

3. Record the waveforms

The drawback is accessing the data requires using matlab every time. Matlab is not as convenient to use as python (for me). So, I want to explore the option of exporting the data through the adexl-matlab bridge at once (test name, corners, temperature, (sweep) variables, scalar values, waveforms). Then, store this database as a history for later querying.

I wonder whether this is a valid or stupid idea. If yes, are there already prior work so that I don't re-build the wheels ? Or any other suggestions in case I want to follow this route ?

Not sure what you mean by the "adexl-matlab" bridge. There is only a very limited integration with MATLAB with ADE XL (you can have MATLAB script outputs, which can only access the raw waveform data). ADE Explorer/Assembler has an option for a much tighter MATLAB integration which allow MATLAB output expressions which can be executed per point or across all the data.

Maybe it was just terminology and you were using old tool names; in principle you could do what you are suggesting using the ADE MATLAB Integration (with Explorer/Assembler), but I can't comment on any prior work that is available.

    Regards,

    Andrew

HI Andrew, indeed, what I meant by 'adexl-matlab' bridge is the ADE MATLAB Integration (with Explorer/Assembler)
