Creating Virtuoso views of standard cells from LEF, GDS, and spice views

I have a standards cells library that didn't come with either CDB or OA views. I have LEF, GDS, and spice models.

I would however like to use them in custom IC designs (buffers, dividers, quick n' dirty digital cells).

1. How can I import a cell using LEF, GDS, and spice? Is there a manual available?

2. I have generated cellviews from spice models in the past, but the process is tedious. Can the importing of standard cells from GDS, LEF, and spice be done in batch?

3. Some processes have different devices to simulate mismatch effects. With an OA cellview, one can simply replace the transistors with '_mac' ones. Is it possible to do the same with imported spice models?

Thanks ahead,

Matan

    Matan,

Yes, you can use the lefin and strmin command-line tools (or do the same from the UI). I wouldn't be surprised however that you'd just have a single LEF file or GDS file for all standard cells, and so you can easily import all of those from the File->Import menu in Virtuoso.

For SPICE, if you have a single netlist, then that's easy enough. If you have lots of individual netlists, you could just cat them all together. You could edit the files and do a search and replace to change the model names. Having done that, it's a matter of defining the device map files to import them.

Sounds easy enough, does any of those automatically generate symbols?

    Tnx
