Retrieve abutment information

We need to migrate a layout from one technology to another. I'm a bit struggling how deal with abutted devices:

In order to repair the abutment in the migrated layout, It seems that using the lxChain function the auto-abutment can be re-triggered for selected devices like:  lxChain(geGetSelSet() 2:0 ?useDeviceOrder t)

So what is needed is the device order (what device instances are abutted together) in the pre-migrated layout. If abutted two devices manually, following message is displayed in CIW:

INFO (LX-1102): Instance 'I8' abutted to instance 'I1'.

The question is whether this information is somewhere stored? Because this info is ( I think) required to re-trigger the abutment of same instances in the migrated layout.

Or is there a better way to re-establish abutment after migration (= re-instantiating devices)?
