hiInsertMenuItem: All menu item symbols must be unique. Item ('slider_menu_tm) not added.

Hi Andrew,

A third-party tool is trying to place a pulldown menu on a Virtuoso schematic banner, but gets the following:

  WARNING: hiInsertMenuItem: All menu item symbols must be unique. Item ('slider_menu_tm) not added.

Could you help me troubleshoot this?

  • Hi,

    The warning message is quite explicit, there is already another menu item having the same name

    Either the tool you are trying to setup is loaded twice or you have another tool with overlapping names 

    Do you have access to the source code of the third-party tool you are loading?

    If you don't it might be complicated to debug...

    You can still start by checking the existing menus to find which menu item is already named 'slider_menu_tm and see where it comes from
