Connecting two different nets with SKILL

Vishnu
Vishnu over 2 years ago

I am working on a project which requires me to do everything in SKILL code.

So, I have Instantiated two Instances (say Inst1 and Inst2, which are symbols. I instantiated two symbols into a schematic view to connected them) now these instances have nets in the schematic view.
My aim is to connect these two nets (say net1 and net14).

Now, I have tried to use createWire function and failed, I didn't understand what to do.
Then, I have also tried to rename the nets with the name same, meaning they will be technically connected. But, *WARNING* (DB-270000): dbRenameNet: Net with name 'VDD_65V' already exists. is the error I get. I have no idea how to override such things if possible, or make Virtuoso understand I want to connect them.

NOTE: I just stared with SKILL, and this is just the start of my journey. Forgive me if what I ask is not clear and I would be very happy if someone could help me.

Thanks,
V

    Hi Vishnu,

It would be a lot of effort to take you through this learning process. Can I recommend some of the online training material?

    Hi Rob,

    Thank you for the reply.
I have already enrolled for this course, but I just wanted some help in my project regarding what I mentioned previously.
If you can guide be through the way or give me some key points to go after, it would be great!

    Thanks again,
    V
