Connecting two different nets with SKILL

Vishnu

I am working on a project which requires me to do everything in SKILL code.

So, I have Instantiated two Instances (say Inst1 and Inst2, which are symbols. I instantiated two symbols into a schematic view to connected them) now these instances have nets in the schematic view.
My aim is to connect these two nets (say net1 and net14).

Now, I have tried to use createWire function and failed, I didn't understand what to do.
Then, I have also tried to rename the nets with the name same, meaning they will be technically connected. But, *WARNING* (DB-270000): dbRenameNet: Net with name 'VDD_65V' already exists. is the error I get. I have no idea how to override such things if possible, or make Virtuoso understand I want to connect them.

NOTE: I just stared with SKILL, and this is just the start of my journey. Forgive me if what I ask is not clear and I would be very happy if someone could help me.

Thanks,
V

Do you want the physical wires connected in the schematic or is just logical connectivity ok? A half way house is to create a small physical wire stub and connect by name. Any physical shapes add complication as you need to calculate coordinates etc. for the location.

I do not need a physical wires connection, I mean, I don't require this in particular.
My only motive is to connect the two nets somehow or the other.
Yes, and adding something physical needs coordinates etc. which is quite a complicated way, as you mentioned.

Do you have anything in mind to do this without such complications?
Or maybe connect wires to the nets by their net_Id instead of coordinates.
