What is the difference between instance master and header? Which one to use when traversing the library hierarchy or topcell

    Hi,

If you are traversing the hierarchy you will most likely use the masters

Here is a little recap :

    - master : it is the reference cellview you instantiate in your current design

    - instance : it contains all the properties to be used with your master (at least origin, orientation and pCells parameters when the master is a pCell)

    - header : it is a reference for a group of instances having the same parameters (but not the same origin, orientation)

    Hope this helps,

    Cheers

    Aurélien
