How to access Categories in Skill?

Hi!

I'm super new, and I'm trying to access these layout designs that's hiding behind a category in my library manager.

Pretty much, I access a library in Virtuoso and see that these 5 layouts are hidden underneath a category called "PARTS".

However in my linux terminal, when I access the library, I see something called "PARTS.cat"

How the heck do I open up a category file? I'm trying to step through the layout files behind it (I'm assuming that's how it works).

    Hi,

There is a SKILL API for accessing categories. Just run the finder (startFinder() from the CIW) and then enter "ddCat" in the "Find what" field.
Essentially you need to get the category id (a SKILL data structure) for a category which is what ddCatOpen() returns. Once you have this category id you can take it from there and for example get a list of all category members (ddCatGetCatMembers(), add new members (ddCatAddItem()), etc.
