Mapping Mac modifier keys

SSR

Hi,

I'm trying to use the modifier keys on my Mac for using along bindkeys.

Dont know what 'control' , 'option' & 'command' keys represent (like the windows key is called 'Super').

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

This probably depends on how you are connecting to a Linux session. Are you using VMware, VNC, Exceed TurboX, Nomachine NX, or a straight X connection using XQuartz? Or something else?

My connection to the server is through TigerVNC. Has it got a different representation for the modifier keys?

To be honest, the simplest thing is usually to use the bindkey editor in the CIW to see what things map to. Using Options→Bindkeys and then picking a tool and adding a bindkey with the green + button, you can then press the key combinations and see what it maps to - e.g. ⌘ (cmd) often maps to ctrl, and ⌥ (option) often maps to Alt (note that Alt bind keys are ignored in Virtuoso by default - but there's a .cdsenv setting to change that).
