Calling a matlab script from an Ocean post processing script

I know there are some OceanXL commands to call a matlab script, and the manual says they can only be used inside ADExl

What i want to do is be able to call a Matlab script (that also reads waves) from a standalone ocean post processing script, and to get results from it into some ocean variable.

is that possible?
