Creating slots for a polygon metal shape

natasun

Hi,

I am looking at a possible option for creating a slot for an existing polygon metal shape in the layout using a skill code. Like if we input the slot width , length and the polygon metal shape, the script provides the output slotted polygon shape.

Unlike rectangle shape, polygon shape will have a weird pattern, is it possible to create a slot on a polygon shape?

Thanks,

natsun

    Hi,

The function you are looking for is probably leChopShape.

It takes a shape as input (which can be a rectangle, a polygon, a path etc.) and a list of points to create the slot.

    Cheers

There's also lxShapeSlotting() and lxConvertSlotToPolygon() that might be useful here.
