Hi All ,

When I draw a path/wire  , show Option form , want to change Width 0.2 to 0.1 , It will reset to 0.2

and show message LE-??? in CIW ...

Can I change the Width from option form ?

PS : I can finish path/wire after change the width

Thanks,

    Charley,

Assuming that the message is this one:

*WARNING* (LE-103008): Adjusted new width of 0.05 to match the minimum width of 0.12 for layer ("Metal1").

then I don't believe you can override this (at least from the searching I did). Of course, you might be talking about a different warning since LE-??? is not very specific.

Perhaps you should contact customer support with details of precisely why you need this?

    Andrew

    Hi Charley,

Just to back up Andrew's feedback: I'm pretty sure the "LE" warning is that which Andrew shows.

The issue is due to the fact you are trying to change the width below that which i defined in the technology library (file) foundry constraints. Virtuoso will not let you violate this. Unless there is an error in the technology file then this implies 0.2 is the design rule minimum value. You should adhere to this rule.

    Rob.

    Hi Andrew ,

Yes . The message *WARNING* (LE-103008) is that what i mean. Sorry , I forgot the full number.

That's true , I can not overwrite. unless change the file and load it.

Metal1's width in techfile is 0.2um , but it can use 0.1um when  another condition.

Why i need this ?  I want to draw the true width 0.1um of path/wire  when I am execute the command.

    Thanks for reply it

    Hi Rob ,

I have tried to create new constraing group and it  can apply and show the value , but it does not work.

I am not sure ITDB whether can do this.

    Thanks,

    Charley

    What condition permits 0.1?

The techfile needs correcting to represent the foundry design rules.

The 'foundry' constraint is the "hard" stop. An incremental CG cannot be used to reduce this.

Just as an addendum: You can add a new 'foundry' CG to the ITDB. This is potentially a workaround but a risk to override foundry defined rules.

ITDB: Incremental technology - defining CG with the same name as base PDK (cadence.com)
