Vertical seperator in the hiLayout form

Hi all.

I'm currently working with Virtuoso IC23.1-64b.main.705 and attempting to add a vertical line (separator) in a hiLayout form.

When I use hiCreateSeparatorField, I've noticed that the orient attribute is defined at the 2D form level, rather than directly within the field itself.

So I wonder there is a field or an attribute of separtorField that allows for the creation of a vertical line in hiLayout Form.

Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I don't think this is possible currently. hiCreateSeparatorField always produces horizontal separators when used with the hiLayout forms (I wondered whether with a horizontal box it might produce a vertical line, but it doesn't). There's an enhancement Cadence Change Request #3047734 asking for the orientation to be specified when creating the field, but this has not been considered yet. You might want to contact customer support and use the Case menu to submit a support case to request a duplicate request on your behalf to increase the likelihood of this being implemented.

An alternative would be to create a sub layout and use the ?frame argument around the sub layout. Not quite the same as a vertical separator, but might achieve similar functionality.

    Regards,

    Andrew
