Layout Pattern Matching

Currently, I am designing a large-scale layout.
The hierarchy, including instances, mosaics, etc., is complex.
During the design, I am trying to implement a typical CTRL+F(Find) function.
When a designer selects an arbitrary region and presses CTRL+F, it should find identical locations.

I want to select a region in one CellView, and then use CTRL+F in the TopView to find it, but this approach was impractical due to the time required for flattening.

To implement a pattern matching function for specific regions without flattening the entire TopView, what key areas should I primarily study?
