AWV histogram 0th idx missing

TF202506034656
TF202506034656 1 day ago

Good evening,

I'm attempting to plot an impulse response with a stemplot. For my use case the histogram plotting style seems to be sufficient, as there is a small number of bins.

It works great except I can't see my 0th index value. I confirmed it does indeed exist in the table, but visually it doesn't show up unless I am hovering my cursor over where it is placed.

This is the code I am using to generate it:

awvPlotWaveform(winId list(w1Obj) ?expr list(labelMatch[w1]))
awvSetPlotStyle(winId "histogram")

Please see a photo below,

Thanks,

Trevor Farias

    Trevor,

    I'd need enough data to reproduce this and to know which IC subversion you are using.

    Does it work better if you use "spectral" rather than "histogram"?

    Andrew

    Thanks for the reply Andrew,

    I'm on IC Subversion: IC23.1-64b.ISR14.32

    Spectral shows the 0th index correctly.

    The histogram is exactly what I want minus the missing (and funny enough most important) data point.

    In terms of enough data to reproduce, my exact workflow is as follows:

    w1Obj = waveform I'm operating on

    winId = awvCreatePlotWindow()
    awvDisplayTitle(winId "...")
    awvDisplaySubwindowTitle(winId "..")

    awvPlotWaveform(winId list(w1Obj))
    awvSetPlotStyle(winId "histogram")

    In terms of actual data I attempted linking a VCSV but it wouldn't let me, did you have a different idea in mind?

    See a photo of the spectral below:

    Can you rename the VCSV to have a .txt suffix and try uploading that?

    Thanks,

    Andrew

    The issue is that some of the bins go missing depending on the window size. If you resize the window, you'll see them appear or vanish. You have 257 x-values which is quite a lot of bins, and in. your picture above many of them are missing.

    If you use "spectral" you get all of the values shown - which seems correct to me. I'm not sure why you want "histogram" which some of the bins randomly missing (depending on the scale of the window) rather than "spectral" which shows them all?

    I suspect the behaviour with missing bins is a bug (I will check with R&D), but if it was to show all the bins you'd get a graph like the "spectral" graph anyway!

    Yeah that makes sense! I was just about to type up a reply saying there's actually quite a few more missing than I thought. I originally didn't want spectral because of the line size, but I'm now seeing that is a variable.

    Thanks a bunch for your reply, I'll just switch to spectral.
