Set network topology scheme service priorities for Huawei OSN 3500

I have some services with different priorities (for example 5 priorities from 1 to 5) for Huawei MSTP OSN 3500. When one of the channels is shutdown, i must ensure that services with high priorities are online and use other channels. If two channels are shutdown, the services with high priority still must be online, and the services with low priority can be switched off.

To realize the features you mentioned, there are two solutions:

1. ASON feature, it is a software package installed in Huawei U2000 NMS FOR OSN 3500, and need equipment hardware to support it also. it is a very expensive software, and need very high experience engineer skills. Only a few leading telecom operators in the world using it, enterprise customers normally not using due to it expensive and technical required. (not suggested)

2. MSP project, in detail, there are two kinds of MSP for your choice.

1+1 MSP, that means every service configure two channel, when the main channel down, service could auto switch to protection channel without any interruption. the disadvantage for this solution is, bandwidth wasted, and it is not recommended.

1:N MSP, that means configure one protection channel for all the "N" services (here in your case the "N" stand for "5", those 5 services can set priority before head), when any of the 5 service channel down, it can switch to the protection channel; At this time, if a higher priority service channel down again, the higher priority service can occupy the lower priority, in the protection channel. This is our recommended solution for its best bandwidth utilization.

2b, solution (1:N MSP), you can configure it on U2000 NMS or T2000 NMS as you like, no need additional software for it. But as we mentioned in our previous email, U2000 NMS is license control, please pay attention.
